Nicole Powell - Public Relations | Writing

Based on Long Island’s idyllic south shore just outside of New York City, Nicole Powell specializes in public relations and writing, specifically focused on travel and coastal experiences. She is a mother of two, and in her spare time also runs a boutique oyster farm with her husband.

With 14 years of experience as a publicist representing some of the biggest names in the tourism industry, Nicole’s expertise has resulted in feature coverage in nationally-recognized magazines, newspapers and TV spots for cruise lines, hotels, resorts, tourism boards, online travel agencies, tour operators, restaurants and more. 

Nicole has experience in both agency and in-house settings, giving her the contacts and resources of a PR firm while also understanding the commercial and financial priorities of a global business. She knows the necessity of being resourceful for a boutique, family-owned company, and the macro-level strategic thinking needed to move the needle within a big conglomerate.

She has gone to the farthest reaches of the world to ensure her clients get the recognition and coverage they deserve: she swam in the Amazon river with a New York Times writer; brought journalists to savor a meal in a cave home in Cappadocia; escorted executives around major cities to visit top editorial houses; hosted film screenings and panels; and spent three weeks on a cargo ship in French Polynesia in support of a feature story.

Available on a project basis or on a monthly retainer, she works tirelessly to bridge the gap between aspirational experiences and the general consumer, ensuring a brand’s presence in the media not only inspires their target audience, but also acts as an important step in the funnel towards conversion. 

While travel is her expertise, as an oyster farmer and yoga/fitness enthusiast, she is also passionate about promoting and writing about coastal experiences, wellness and purpose-led brands. She believes in the power of sharing these stories as a catalyst for inspiring positive change in the world.
